 Main Lesson Blocks

The core subjects of Science, Social Studies and English Language Arts (ELA) will be taught through teacher-led instruction in daily 2-hour, Waldorf-style Main Lesson Blocks. Students will rotate through 8, four-week topic blocks per year with their same-grade peers.

Math & ELA

In addition to the Main Lesson Blocks, Math and ELA will also be provided daily through direct instruction with Mathematics courses meeting Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and ELA Writing Lab taking place on Wednesdays.

9th Grade= Pre-Algebra or Algebra 1
10th Grade= Algebra 1 or Geometry 1
11th Grade= Geometry 1 or Algebra 2
12th Grade= Practical Mathematics (Statistics and Probability, Data Analysis, Personal Finance)

9-12th Grade ELA= Writing Lab, Grammar, Reading Skills and More


 *Students that wish to continue with Mathematics will be able to select from a variety of in-house elective Math options, develop independent advanced math projects or participate in additional math courses offered at UW-Stevens Point.

 Electives, Projects & More

Students will have the opportunity to fulfill credits that are suited to their interests and passions. Central Sands students will be able to customize their afternoon with their Personal Learning Plans (PLP’s). To fulfill their elective requirements, student will be able to choose from a variety of in-house elective courses & workshops, create individual or team projects to suit their interests and learning styles, participate in college courses, professional apprenticeships, work study and more! The sky really is the limit when it comes to working with an advisor to develop your PLP!
