Student Council
FCCLA
Central Sands now has a Chapter with the FCLLA. Students meet regularly and attend conferences and competitions. This club is run by our Family and Consumer Education Teacher Amanda Krueger.
Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) for students in Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) education in public and private schools. FCCLA offers intracurricular resources and opportunities for students to pursue careers that support families. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.
With over a quarter of a million student members and more than 7,400 chapter advisers across 5,400 chapters, the FCCLA family continues to expand and thrive, fostering a vibrant community of passionate individuals committed to making a difference. The work of FCCLA helps students and teachers focus on various youth concerns, including parenting, family relationships, substance abuse, peer pressure, sustainability, nutrition and fitness, teen violence, and career preparation in six specific Career Clusters. Involvement in FCCLA offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life—planning, goal setting, problem-solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication—necessary in the home and workplace.
Student-Led Mixed Martial Arts & Wrestling Space
The Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and Wrestling Space at Central Sands Community High School is intended to provide students with a safe and respectful environment for physical activity, skill development, and community building. This space will primarily be used during the lunch period for student-led activities. Once the wrestling season begins, the space will be used for team practices under the supervision of a licensed coach.
Cooking Club
Cooking Club offers students a hands-on opportunity to explore seasonal ingredients, develop practical kitchen skills, connect and collaborate with creativity, and nourishment! Whether they’re chopping, baking, fermenting, or learning about where their food comes from, students gain confidence and joy in the kitchen, while also building community around the shared table.
Wellness Club
In Wellness Club, students have the opportunity to utilize the Central Sands Community High School Wellness Center.
Under the supervision of faculty, students will utilize free weights, cardio, and lifting machines. Wellness Club is a wonderful chance for students to build a program that works for them and promote a healthy relationship with their bodies.
